Purchased two of these fans for a covered patio - primarily for their contemporary look, the lack of a light kit we didn't need, the airflow rating and the price. We're very happy with all aspects of them. This fan is a true "outdoor" fan as it does have the extra seals to ensure water stays out of the wiring and fan motor. Fan comes with matching 3.5" and 6" matching downrods. Assembly was just a tad easier than other fans since there are only 3 blades, and neither of the two we purchased required any balancing. The wireless remote was a nice included accessory, but isn't required if you'd rather use a wall switch speed control unlike some of the other fans on the market.Airflow of this fan is 5450 CFM suing 58 watts making it's airflow efficiency 94.97 CFM/watt. There is a 1 year manufacturer's (defect) warranty and the motor itself has a lifetime warranty (excludes the wall controls and electrical components). This seems to be a well built fan overall. Installation was not very difficult considering you are hanging a ceiling fan up on a ladder with only two hand. One thing to note is that the fan blades themselves are plastic, probably for safety and cost reasons, not metal. The fan operates with nearly no noise whatsoever but moves air very well. I do wish you could revers the direction of the rotation via the remote but you cannot. There is a switch on the upper part of the fan body to do so. I have high ceilings so it is a bit of an inconvenience to change with the seasons. Remote works great otherwise and I am very happy with fan. I installed this on the interior but it is rated for outdoor use.Very nice fan but it rattles constantly. We purchased 2 of these for our outdoor patio (new construction). In addition, we have purchased 4 more Minke-Aire fans for the entire house and every single one of them rattles. I called customer support who indicated that these are all electrical related and they must be returned - UNACCEPTABLE!!! The fans are extremely stylish but expensive but not worth the money when they all rattle. I tried explaining to customer support at M-A that it sounded like the housing was rattling against the motorized unit. I suspect no matter what I told him, the stock answer would be "it's electrical and needs to be replaced". These are brand new fans which cost in excess of $2300 total. If you're going for looks alone, these are great fans. However, be prepared to deal with the noise they emit.I have purchased and installed many ceiling fans and this is my favorite. It has great air flow and operates silently. I installed it on a pergola — 12x14 — and it provides nice air flow to the entire area.Great look - and love the remotes. We are still trying to figure out 'where to keep them' though. The thought of losing the remote vs having them hanging on the wall (with the remote holster always there) is not optimal for us. So, we are thinking about that still. But, they look great and since they haven't been hanging long I can't speak to rust or anything like that.the photo actually makes the fan look darker than it is so I tried to adjust it before posting but the photos online are a better depiction of the actual color of the fan. This was twice the price I wanted to pay.. BUT......glad I got it. Its on my screened porch by the coast and had been through the half priced "damp location" fans about every 4 years. The $100 fans just doesn't hold up in that humid ocean air. This Java fan looks like the housing is much better sealed and rated for "wet locations". My daughter started helping me assemble and put up the fans when she was 4. Now, 3 fan projects later, I'm sad to say that this Mink-aire fan project may be our last together. She's actually loosing her interest in this anyway.Great fan. My Son installed it and it is easy to use and very effective.Beautiful outdoor fan with modern design. It definitely looks great outside. However, it does not have enough power if you are looking to get cooler in very hot days. We had to buy few powerful floor fans because those fans didn’t do the job for us.
