Introducing OSCR32 – the Vornado Whole Room Tower Circulator with Oscillation On-Demand. Of course, OSCR32 delivers Vornado’s signature whole room circulation - utilizing stationary, high-velocity airflow to continuously circulate all the air in the room. With whole room circulation, everyone in the room remains cool and comfortable – and that’s only half the story. OSCR32 also offers a second option: oscillation mode – sweeping the room with cooling beams of high-velocity airflow. Designed for smooth, quiet oscillation and embellished with a chromed carry handle, the OSCR32 would be a beautiful and functional addition to any space. There are those that have experienced the constant comfort of whole room circulation. There are those that enjoy the sweeping air experience of oscillation. OSCR32 delivers the best of both worlds. Greetings,Founded in the 1930s the name Vornado is a word combination of Vortex and Tornado.Surely it's just marketing hype? With the rise of "Made in China" products, most fan manufacturers now sell anemic fans. Gone is the trusted CFM specification on the outside of a fan's display box. CFM is Cubic Feet per Minute. That quantity of air a fan must move in one minute was the ONLY way to judge the efficiency between electric fans. Nowadays they all have anemic "junk" motors that are very, very disappointing. The recent spate of appalling window fans is a good example. Junk!My antique, 16" 1912 table fan, set low, will just about knock you over. On high it is just downright scary! While the term CFM is also, unhappily, missing from today's Vornado display boxes, they do taut the range of just how far you can feel the breeze from their fans, which actually is better imagined then CFM.My medium-sized Vornado table fan has a range of some 85 feet! So without any CFMs specs on competitor fans being sold, I trusted my experience with Vornado and purchased their latest Vornado Tower fan.It arrived a day early. The display box was substantial and attractive, with the tower fan nicely protected inside. The Vornado Tower fan is beautifully contoured with a long plastic, faux chrome handle that really makes the fan look modern and "snazzy".Some angry customer reviews complained the fan is noisy, it rattles on high, or doesn't work right out of the box! Well let me tell you - my Vornado is impossible to even hear on low. On high it operates at a whisper. Any distance from the fan and it is again silent.I needed a small "foot print" tower fan at the end of my hallway where its oscillations sweep two rooms. That way I can cool both my bedroom and computer/den simultaneously. Now the display box and manual both claim this fan has range of 65 feet. Well, let me tell you, I was sitting about 25 feet away and around a corner from the hall entry, busy at the computer working. After a time, I suddenly realized I was freakin' cold with a blast every 11 seconds! I had to get up to turn down the Vornado's speed control.Up until that time I was not necessarily impressed with the high setting. Perhaps its the quiet of the fan that fooled me. But I retract it now as I have, on several occasions, been frozen out of my den or bedroom as it oscillates back and forth on high. Finally, I think I may have solved the issue of those Vornados not working right out of box. I believe the "touch sensitive" buttons, which operate the fan manually, rely on the change in capacitance when a finger approaches the sensor to touch it, since the body itself acts like an additional capacitor, hence providing an additive charge to the touch sensitive buttons to manipulate them. Some people carry more electrical charge on the surface of their skin than do others. I had one hell of a time getting used to the buttons myself, finally banging on them to make the Vornado respond. I discovered that more often then not, my finger tips just don't have much electrical capacitance to speak of. But my thumbs do! Also, just barely touching the buttons is far more effective than pokes and punches.Of course for the electrically "challenged" folks out there, Vornado supplies a small "clicker" remote control. But you MUST point it at the FRONT GRILL for it to read the signal. My conclusions are: No rattles. It is silent to whisper quiet. It Shoots air the claimed distances easily. On high it can get freakin' cold. And, the fan's buttons work just fine - it is you.Having made a short story long, I am absolutely delighted with my Vornado Tower fan. It is by far better than the old "famous name brand" tower fan I demolished in fit of rage a week earlier. And, I do not regret paying the higher price for easily the best fan on the market. If looking for a top-flight fan always look to the Vornado brand. This fan is much quieter than the Honeywell fan we had and moved more air. I highly recommend. I have this in while sleeping and can barely tell that it's on from a noise level on the weakest setting.Fan is relatively quiet and airflow is good. The Alexa feature works but some commands such as oscillate still needs some work. Great fan in fact we have two. It's awesome that you can control this thing with alexa, but the commands have to be pretty specific, for example Alexa, Fan On doesn't work, you have to say Alexa, Fan Power On. I haven't gotten the oscillation to work at all with a voice command. as a fan, this moves a lot of air at a reasonable volume. A little Hard to cleanSetup was easy and product works as expected. Its a vornado and it feels like it. Designed well and definitely value for money 10/10 would recommendPowerful yet soft breeze. Low noise level. User friendly. Small footprint.I’m not expecting a constant wind turbine, but would expect better fan from Vornodo.I had to return one because it was making noise out of the box. The second one arrived and felt the fan on the highest setting wasn’t as strong.Appearance is great, we’ll built. Noise is not an issue for me, for mine sits near the TV so the volume draws out the fan noise. In the summer of 2020, I was staying at a place without AC, but they had a Vornado. It saved my life. I was so impressed with its level of force! When I looked them up, I thought the prices were very fair with that in mind. So I bought the 5303, which was called a "Small Whole Room Air Circulator Fan." I absolutely love it, and I take it everywhere with me when I travel (not by plane). The only things the 5303 didn't offer that I kept finding I needed were 1) it doesn't oscillate, and 2) there is no remote control. I was doing a lot of work where I'd be across the room, totally buried by my project, and absolutely roasting. I wished time and time again for a remote control that would allow me to reap the benefit of the Vornado sitting on the other side the room, pointing in a different direction. Also (3, I guess), it is on a loud side, at least on medium and especially high. I'm not complaining, but something quieter would make it easier to hear my TV/stereo/etc... on hot nights without disturbing others.I looked at several different models, and finally settled on this one. I liked the height, and I thought if I placed it at about hip-level, it would hit most of the room, especially my upper body for when I'm on my feet working. (Yes, I know you're supposed to set it on the floor. But I considered that a safety issue, not a functionality issue, so I decided I would just be sure it was good and secure, and accept the risk.)Super easy to set up.SUPER quiet. I'm really happy with the noise level. (Note: the reviewer who said everyone who thinks it's quiet must have hearing problems? It seems clear, even from her own words, that her unit was defective!... especially when she then goes on to note the mechanical whine, and that her 20-year-old fan is quieter than this is on even the lowest setting! If my fan is on low, or low-medium, it is SO quiet that I wouldn't even know it was on at all.)The power is just... okay. I mean, it's fine. But this is now my third experience with a Vornado, and the other two models were SO POWERFUL, so I thought they all were. I kind of thought that's what made a Vornado a Vornado. This is just a tall, oscillating fan. And I've tried it both on the floor, and at hip level. The "high" is just not all that powerful, and I mostly don't even bother with the lower levels! Also, the remote sensor is SO FINICKY. And I find it does NOT work well if this is mounted at hip-level. You really have to point the remote directly at the top of the fan. Not only does this kind of suck, but I'm used to the technology these days where you don't even have to point the remote at the device at all! My Firestick works no matter where I am aiming the remote! As do many other things I use. So it's been a long time since I had a remote that needed my aim to be this specific, so it feels antiquated. The remote is also teeny tiny and delicate, and I am very afraid of losing or breaking it. I hope very much that it is replaceable (and at a reasonable price), because I don't see it lasting very long.Anyway, all in all, the fan is fine. The price was fine, I guess. It's just that I could have bought any tall, remote-controlled, oscillating fan (probably for quite a bit less money, actually). I specifically chose Vornado because I have come to expect them to be forceful, and this just... isn't. And I am starting to love this company when I need a good quality fan with some power. This is my second and I'm as happy as the model with a stand that I've purchased. Haven't had to hit anything for the 5 year warranty yet but if it holds up, they're by far the best fans (this and the other model) I've had. I go through a lot - either the oscillation goes or the fan itself gets noisy or stops working. These have been flawless thus far. Will update if that changes. Hope it doesn't.******UPDATE****** Fan starting making an audible high-pitch sound about 6 months in. They say "5 Year Warranty" so I figured no problem, I'll contact customer service. Went to the site, filled out a ridiculously detailed warranty claim and heard nothing back. Tried again. Nothing. It's now been a month and a half.*****Update 2***** Called customer service who acknowledged my "instructions" email was never sent and have begin the process of rectifying the problem for the return. This tower fan has three settings. The lowest setting is the most quiet. I don't know how but it does SEEM to blow slightly cooler air than conventional fans. It's very stylish which was important to me. I wish they had sent me the remote with the "faceted/diamond shaped mold" it's so much cooler looking... I'm not a 'fan' of the placement of the handle as I think it's too low to be truly useful. A fourth setting to blow even more forceful air would've been nice but other than that I like my fan.A good remedy for this sweltering summer, it's got strong air flow even at the lowest setting, and the higher speeds take care of days my room feels like an oven. Not the quietest fan, but I like the white noise. The remote, while handy, has to be hitting the censor just right to actually work, so you can't just point and click, you have to aim.One last thing the power button is moreso a sensor than anything, it goes off and on with a touch and I kept turning it off when my hand would brush by to hit a different button. Got used to it.Es el 4to vornado que compro solo el ruido es un poco alto en el nivel 2 ya en nivel 1 no es tan potente , si lo tienes cerca sin falla el diseño es excelente si lo recomiendoLove this fan! It is quiet and works so well, it almost feels like air conditioning!! It came as promised, was very well packaged and is a very sleek design. We are well pleased with this purchase.
